Continuum – Autumn Grass
Continuum은 2매의 앨범 (1st:<Continuum “70>)을 남긴 브리티쉬 프로그레시브 록 초창기의 그룹이다. 헨리 퍼셀의 곡을 어레인지하기도 했던, 클래식-록-재즈의 융합을 목표로 한 그룹이지만 그 사운드는 따스하게 느껴지는 향취가 감돌며, 이른바 프로그레시브 스타일과는 다소 분위기가 다르다. 인간의 내면세계에 말을 거는듯한 곡상을 지니고 있다. 완성도면에서는 본 2번째 앨범이 더 우수하다. 멜로디는 플루트, 리코더 등 고전악기에 의해 연주되며 이로 인해 특유의 무드를 만들어내고 있다. 배경의 하몬드 오르간, 베이스, 드럼의 어레인지는 옛스러움이 느껴지지만 당시로서는 표준적인 것이다.
